at belliya, we want to re-imagine the way data is collected, processed and used between farmers and farmer producer organisations (i.e. fpo). the existing system has traditional registers at the very core, and a heavy leakage of information at each step of the process. information is available but not actionable. due to lack of real-time information, fpos are not able to take proactive measure; often leading to disastrous outcomes for the fpos and their member farmers. founded by dr. kaviraj singh (iit delhi) and naveen tanwar (iit bombay), our team was exposed to problems in agriculture at a very early age and we are on a mission to help fpos grow with simple software products, and empower them digitally. this will not only transform the lives of millions of farmers but also unlock the potential of the indian agricultural economy. with a vision to accelerate the need for digital transformation, belliya app is completely free and is used by 70+ fpos across 12 states in india.
