bendrigg trust is a registered charity set in 15 acres of grounds nestled between the lake district and yorkshire dales national parks. established in 1978, bendrigg trust is one of the few outdoor education centres in the country specialising in working with disabled and disadvantaged people. since our inception we have provided life-changing opportunities for over 75,000 disabled and disadvantaged people from the local area and throughout the uk. bendrigg promotes independence, encourages inclusion and builds self-confidence through the provision of a wide range of indoor and outdoor adventure, challenge and creative activities for around 3,300 disabled people each year. we aim to reveal hidden potential in young people with a disability and provide life-changing opportunities for our visitors enabling them to do things they never dreamt possible due to their disability or social disadvantage. bendrigg trust employs 25 full and part time staff supported by an active volunteer program
