the firm of becquet & syvret emerged from the practice established by the late mr. charles w. binet who, on his death, was succeeded by the late mr. edgar j. becquet. mr. kenneth w. syvret m.b.e., joined mr. becquet as a partner in 1969. the practice of advocate f.j. benest was established in 1979. advocate frederick benest continued as a sole practitioner serving local clients from his offices in the royal square until the merger of his firm with becquet & syvret. advocate benest's practice maintained a long tradition of legal practice in the benest family, his father advocate h.v. benest having served the royal court as h.m. viscount and his great−uncle snowdon benest, a solicitor, having been the founding partner of another legal practice crill and benest. both firms concentrated on providing a service to the community acting for successive generations of local families. benest & syvret have retained that tradition, specialising in general private client work. the partnership now
