bengu was my first serious side project and introduction into the vast, expansive world of digital marketing and entrepreneurship. i started this blog knowing nothing about online marketing, but fast-forward a few months, many mistakes and some incredible training resources later -- i started making progress. the website is all about long-form, detailed, share-worthy content focused on a variety of topics -- from saas tool reviews to how-to articles on affiliate marketing, passive income and private-label e-commerce businesses. this project helped me figure out the fundamentals of marketing. building an email list. learning how to drive traffic. crafting compelling copy. for the most part, it was more of a scientific experiment than an income-producing asset. that being said, i have referred over $250k in affiliate sales over the lifetime of the blog. i also made quite a few mistakes which have helped me sharpen my digital skills and deepen my understanding of digital marketing.
