the berkeley public library foundation raises private contributions that boost strong public funding. our current project is raising funds to benefit innovations to the central library including a new state-of-the-art-teen center as well as other needed improvements to the historic downtown library building. in the past donors to our neighborhood libraries campaign generously gave more than $3 million to help outfit and renovate claremont, north, south and west branches. our generous donors give berkeley's public libraries the power to try new ideas and to bring everyone in our community into the library and into the future together.
