berko i̇laç ve kimya san.ltd.şti, eczacı berat beran tarafından önceleri diyarbakır’da “beran laboratuarı” adı ile kuruldu. birkaç yıl sonra, 1984’te i̇stanbul’da berko i̇laç olarak faaliyete geçti. galenik preparat üretimiyle faaliyete başlayan berko i̇laç kısa bir süre sonra entegre bir fabrikada tedavi edici özelliği olan ilaçların üretimine başladı, 2000’li yıllara girerken berko i̇laç, ülkede ihtiyaç duyulan yeni moleküllerin ruhsatlandırılması çalışmalarına başladı. bu çerçevede çinko minerali içeren zi̇nco isimli ürünlerin çeşitli formları türk tıbbının hizmetine sunuldu. 2005 yılında berko i̇laç sultanbeyli üretim tesisinin inşaatına başlandı. bu modern üretim tesis, cgmp gereklilikleri göz önünde bulundurularak dizayn edilmiştir. cgmp gerekliliklerinin sıkı bir şekilde uygulandığı, ürün, çevre ve çalışan güvenliğinin ön planda tutulduğu bir üretim tesisi anlayışı hedeflenmiştir. berko i̇laç sultanbeyli üretim tesisi ağustos 2008 yılında üretim iznini alarak faaliyete geçmiştir
