Berry Mania Ladysmith

on february 3, 2014, the ladysmith resources centre association http://www.lrca.bc.ca held a fund development meeting composed of staff, board members, and volunteers. at the meeting one of the fund raising suggestions was an annual “blackberry festival”. on february 17, a second meeting was held, where general fund raising information was discussed, and a sub-committee was formed to look into an annual fundraiser event. the sub-committee decided to focus on a family event, with a berry theme, at transfer beach in september of 2014. on february 21, 2014 transfer beach was tentatively booked for a one day event on september 13, 2014. title, location, time: “berry mania” #a family fun festival@ladysmith location: transfer beach time park rental covers: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm goals: annual fund raising event to support lrca programs (2014 target - $10,000.00) a community family event designed to get residents involved. activities focused on “fun” and “active intergenerational participation”.
