"breeding poultry association" which had been established in december 1992, was renamed as "poultry meat producers and breeders association" in 1994 after poultry meat industrialists gather under its roof. the members of besd-bir supply 91% of the total production of chicken and turkey meat, hatching broiler eggs and day old chicks in turkey. until 2006, in addition to egg and meat breeding industrialists, the ones who have poultry slaughterhouse gathered under the roof of the association. in 2006, with the change in regulations, egg breeding industrialists dropped out and besd-bir only extended the memberships of poultry meat producers. besd-bir aims to develop the production of poultry meat industry, to create values which will contribute to the companies, to present the industry appropriately and to establish communication between public and industry. 29 companies are registered to besd-bir. the general board, consisted by 135 members, elect the board of directors and supervisors, w
