beth has lived in the bow valley for 29 years. an avid downhill and backcountry skier, mountain biker and hiker. another way she expresses her love for the mountain environment is by combining it with an interest in woodworking, which developed from her shared experiences growing up with her uncle, a master woodworker in ste. adele quebec. her original works of art are unique and imaginative. to create each piece, beth starts with a ¼ inch tableau of wood. she draws each piece, and then uses a rotary tool to cut out the negative space, a router to round and soften the edges. then with hand carving tools the fine detailing is made. it is then primed and ready for painting with acrylic. the frame is solid fir. beth's art assumes a different feel depending on the background the piece is placed on. her unique medium allows the collector to set the tone of the negative space of each piece. the framed cutting may be placed against a window, on a neutral or colourful wall or with a mirror beh
