bethany hill school is a living and learning community of neighbors that provides independent, affordable housing with educational opportunities within a climate of respect, inclusion, and acceptance. residents are empowered to progress toward their goals and be their best selves in a safe, supportive environment. bethany hill school residents - all of whom are low-income and from diverse backgrounds - demonstrate a willingness to address difficult personal issues and circumstances. they are guided and nurtured in their quest for change and growth by a small but committed group of staff and volunteers who encourage positive life choices and personal accountability. residents face a range of challenges including: • homelessness resulting from a combination of factors • lack of vocational ability/training to provide adequate financial support • physical and mental disabilities • background of substance abuse • hiv/aids diagnoses
