the overriding purpose of b.e.s.t. (bethesda institute of science and technology) is to excite, educate and inspire young people to pursue the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering and math; as well as, the professional careers that are associated with those disciplines. it is our desire to offer workshops, conferences, speakers, competitions, teams, trips and demonstrations that are focused upon the goal of increasing participation in s.t.e.m. our country's future depends upon it. a well-trained workforce is the requirement of better economic times and a stronger competitive position in the global economy. in other words, education is an imperative that every community in these united states should and must work to improve. our young people are challenged to meet the rest of the world head-on. only by working hard and working intelligently can we meet that challenge and excel. b.e.s.t. is making a commitment to do its part in that effort.
