at better balance, we understand the benefits to people when they "work smart, spend smart and do what they love". we believe there are a lot of people who want to work - just not full-time. we are advocating for these people through education and promotion to change the perception that people who want to work part-time are lazy, unmotivated or unfocused. in fact, many times they are quite the opposite. we want to help employers create and provide part-time professional roles so they can hire and keep top talent. advocating for more part-time professional opportunities is just one of better balance's three tenets. we think it's the most important one given the challenges employers and employees are facing right now.
