better than rubies is a registered charitable trust that was founded in 2018, with a primary focus on mentoring and providing emotional support to institutionalised girls, to raise their aspiration levels. the trust provides voluntary life skills training that educates and ultimately empowers the girls, preparing them for life after the institution. the primary beneficiaries are adolescent girls living in alternative care institutions such as orphanages and foster homes. however, as the trust aims to strike a balance in society, future projects will include grooming the boy-child away from toxic masculinity.
