building effective youth development center (beydc) is a nonprofit agency with the goal of providing academic mentoring programs primarily for elementary school students and ultimately for middle and high school youth in the city of vallejo as well as the neighboring town of american canyon. the bey center is forming partnerships with local school districts, inclusive of vallejo city unified school district (vcusd) and additional progressive youth development programs. beydc's goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future. the mission of the bey center is to empower the youth by teaching, equipping, motivating, and cultivating their hearts and minds through mentoring and guidance. it will employ the “green” culture of conservation, supporting the preservation of natural resources for its facility as well as the current and future generations. it intends to distribute its r
