beyondgear is founded in the idea to use adventure for good. we believe adventure sports venues in at-risk communities can be utilized to create social change. every purchase of a beyondgear product gives one at-risk kid the gift of adventure. the favelas (slums) of rio de janeiro are built within a mecca of world class rock-climbing. youth in these underprivileged communities are faced with an array of difficulties and negative influences like drugs, violence and gangs. climbing can offer these youth a positive alternative to their daily struggles and even get them a job as climbing guides. beyondgear is working with the centro de escalada urbana (ceu) to use climbing to change lives. go beyondgear and give the gift of adventure!
