big fat oysters limited is an oyster distribution company that ships the biggest, fattest and freshest oysters in the universe to the consumers doorstep anywhere in new zealand. our oysters are grown in the clear waters of the bay of islands, new zealand - they are grown for a minimum of 3 years before harvest, twice as long as usual, resulting in much larger oysters for the consumer. we harvested strictly to season – june to december when they are at the peak of their condition. our oysters are immediately opened in our onsite licensed processing plant then packed into convenient 200ml or 500ml tubs, to ensure maximum freshness and a premium product. to retain their superb taste, all oysters are washed and packed in sea water from the same area in which they have been raised. the tubs are then chilled down and packed in to chilli boxes with ice and transported by overnight courier. -- please note orders are dispatched at 7.30am on monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday only and the p
