after 20 years working for some of the largest global research firms on both sides of the pacific, i’ve come to the conclusion that the constant pressure at large firms to “feed the beast” and focus on billable hours, sales targets and landing the next project can sometimes mean client needs end up further down the queue. big picture qual and quant research was founded on the notion that i’d be happier if i got off the research treadmill and allowed myself the time to focus on doing really good work for a handful of good clients. at the same time, i know my clients will be happier because they’ll be getting a researcher more engaged in their issues, get a better return on their research dollar and benefit from the experience and perspective i can deliver.
