years as a business owner and corporate sales executive taught me that many of us were struggling; we were too afraid to say anything or ask for help because admitting the challenges we were facing meant we had to be vulnerable. the problem was that if no one was willing to raise their hand and say, "this is really hard sometimes," or "i need help," then we would all continue to feel isolated and uniquely ineffective. over time i realized that my own unique insights into the many challenges others were facing, had helped me become a trusted advisor to business leaders from a wide variety of organizations. i was able to help them address the issues they were facing with more clarity and insight than they were able to do alone. i started coaching because it was clear to me that the unique value i could offer was to help others do their most important work. my informal style might seem irreverent for some, but thankfully it doesn't prevent me from helping people clearly define the work
