the billings critical incident stress management (cism) team is available to provide debriefings, following critical incidents, to any emergency response agency requesting assistance. the focus of this service is to minimize the harmful effects of job stress, particularly in crisis or emergency situations. as such, the highest priorities for the team are to maintain confidentiality and to respect the feelings of the individuals involved. through the cism process, the team provides crisis intervention, a tool to alleviate stress related symptoms. the debriefing process is not a replacement for counseling. to contact the cism team for debriefing services call the billings/yellowstone county dispatch center at 406-657-8200 and request a cism debriefing. a team representative will get in contact with you following that phone call.
