Bike Lab

mission: bikelab is a community development venture that utilizes local resources and industrial design to develop innovative products to empower through opportunity. history: founded in spring 2009, through a partnership between the local non-profit of hale empowerment and revitalization organization, inc. (hero) and a design collective known as project m, bike lab came to life as a community engagement program promoting cycling as a way to empower and engage the community. in september 2011, bike lab became a manufacturer of bamboo bicycles using local bamboo provided by community partners. bike lab serves as a work-development program educating individuals in industrial manufacturing techniques and green technologies. technical jargon aside: we like bikes, we like learning about bikes, we like building bikes and we like helping others do the same.
