bike stop is a specialist cycle shop and hub which takes donated pre-loved vintage and modern day bicycles and rescues, recycles, upcycles, and updates them ready for their next owner. we take great pride and satisfaction in turning something once unloved into something lovable. bike stop darlington ltd was set up as a social enterprise by first stop darlington which is a local charity supporting people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, and those who are chronically excluded from society. the shop was opened in november 2012 in skinnergate, darlington and brings something new and different to the town. bike stop is the charity’s trading arm, but also carries out important work providing training, volunteering opportunities and work experience for the clients of the charity and others who are furthest from the jobs market. we take great pride in this part of our work and on top of providing these services we have also put two young people through apprenticeships. both were t
