i have over 40 years of placement activities with over 600 people placed with a variety of client firms. i always have an early conversations with candidates as a career focused discussion on their desired future position and career goals. i want to be sure i am on common ground with the people i represent so as not to pursue hiring opportunities that are not in their plan . the majority of my placement work has been with high technology firms. i have enjoyed finding out what these many companies develop and the new and varied features they integrate into their products. i do need to understand what experiences prospective candidates need from a new hire. i personally meet when possible with all the candidates i represent to get a good understanding of what they can offer a new company. it does not make sense to "force fit" someone in a job they may abruptly leave.
