biogen provides an unrivalled food waste recycling solution to local authorities and commercial customers across the uk, processing waste food from homes, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, hotels, offices and food manufacturers. the company has won many industry, environmental and business awards for its commercial food waste recycling services. biogen is responsible for 22 anaerobic digestion (ad) plants to date and currently has 7 operational food waste ad plants located in: bedfordshire, northamptonshire, hertfordshire, warwickshire, caernarfon, denbighshire and rhondda cynon taf. these plants will process around a quarter of a million tonnes of food waste each year to generate 11mw of green electricity for the grid – enough to power around 25,000 homes. what’s left from our ad process is a nutrient rich bio-fertiliser which is returned to the land to grow more crop. nothing is wasted: ours is a truly green solution for food waste disposal and renewable energy. biogen is cert
