bionnovation systems, llc (biosystems for short) was born out of the inevitable downfall of the industrial hemp industry and the change of business models and operations of its predecessor, coastal hemp industries. biosystems is a ri based biotechnology company focused on creating environmentally sound solutions for a variety of global macro problems. originally, the company (under coastal hemp moniker) was founded in order to create biodegradable polymer formulas from the cellulose components of the industrial hemp plant. the legality around the hemp plant and the lack of consistent supply, as well as many other factors relevant to hemp, caused the owners to shift focus into different feedstocks. currently, biosystems is patenting a handful of polymer formulas born out of years of dedicated research under coastal hemp and its advisory board. the plastic formulas created by biosystems is not bioplastics in the traditional sense. these patent pending formulas are an outright replacement
