the company was created in 2007 to register in brasil the product afla-guard, a biological tool to prevent the contamination of food by the aflatoxins. the registration for use in peanuts was granted in 2011. to increase it's product line, biosphere has initiated partnerships with other brazilian companies for distribution and sale of many other biological products used to control agricultural plagues. presently, biosphere has been involved in a program of integrated pest management to control the worm helicoverpa armigera in soybean plantations in the state of são paulo, goiás and tocantins. biosphere is a member of abcbio, the brazilian association of companies for biological control, and presently occupies a chair in the board of directors.
