welcome to the biospheric foundation, an urban ecological experiment based in salford. http://www.biosphericfoundation.com/ we have been working to renovate irwell house, a mill on the banks of the river irwell, to turn it into an inspiring space for the community.we are currently developing a range of projects within the community based around food, energy and waste as well as the creation of a shared workspace for urban research. our first project, whole box scheme is salford's very own whole food delivery service, providing the local greengate & blackfriar's community with the best value, locally produced and sourced healthy food option. whole box's containing fresh fruit and vegetables start from £5 with free delivery, baked goods and yorkshire rapeseed oils are available with an additional charge. this food scheme has been taken on by several local organisations including salix homes, contour housing, university of salford and healthy start - salford nhs.
