the main focus of bioutilize project is valorization of under-utilized medicinal plants, food industry by-products and agricultural waste as raw material for recovery of bioactive compounds (bacs) with high potential for utilization in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food sector. novel approach for present biorefinery concept will rely on application of emerging green extraction techniques with special emphasis on high-pressure processes. traditionally used natural resources such as medicinal and aromatic plants are not fully valorized by modern industry which is followed by huge amount of agricultural waste, by-products and co-products. these streams could be a remarkable source of a wide range of bacs (e.g. polyphenols, carotenoids, etc.), however, novel technological procedures for their isolation should be established. isolation of bacs will be performed by various traditional and novel extraction techniques which will be optimized in order to improve yield of target compounds and/or
