Bird + Bird Studio
a long time ago, before digital imagery ruled the land, adam bird stole his father’s very nice camera, you know, the good one adults don’t let the children play with. in the years since, a camera has taken adam everywhere. his career started early freelancing for local newspapers while in high school and throughout college. this evolved into working as a freelance photojournalist for regional and national newspapers and news-wire agencies, eventually with adam covering western europe for wire agencies, based out of london. in 2007, adam saw newspapers were not adapting (making money) with the shift of entertainment and news online, so he started a studio and became adam bird, photographer. over the next 15 years, adam has worked with a variety of clients and grew a studio in the heart of downtown grand rapids. at the same time he also engaged with photography students by guest lecturing at local universities. some of these students became assistants, second shooters, and first shooter
