the black pottery of bisalhães is a secular art passed between generations of craftsmen who devoted their efforts to the production and commercialization of utilitarian and decorative pieces in the district of vila real. this pottery has acquired over time a fairly strong socio-cultural nature, being now considered an important milestone in the region's culture. the bisarro arises as a bridge connecting the artisan method and design, between the artist and the designer. very focused on design as materialization of the brand’s ideals, bisarro aims to enhance and stimulate the art of bisalhães black pottery through the creation, modernization and commercialization of new shapes and concepts in black pottery. we intend to take this art, almost becoming extinct, to new directions and create new opportunities not only to bisalhães pottery but also to pottery craftsmen.
