Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership

the black country local enterprise partnership is a joint private and public sector body created to drive forward economic development in the region. the black country lep was established in november 2010 and was the first to be officially approved by government in january 2011. there are currently a total of 39 leps across the country. the black country lep is one of the most progressive in the country and has focussed its works on six key priorities of; planning, transport, business support & advice, skills & education, access to capital & investment and international trade. the key priority areas each have a private sector lead tasked with pushing forward proposals and plans. and the four black country councils of dudley, sandwell, walsall and wolverhampton, have also taken on responsibility to support on specific priority areas. the black country lep board is made up of six leading lights from the business world (chaired by stewart towe of hadley group) and the four council leaders
