Black Industrial Designer Association (Bida)

bida is a consortium group of young black industrial designers in south africa working together to create educational awareness about the profession within the black community and to promote a transformation agenda within manufacturing & product development industries. our main goal is to advocate for access-to-market and professional recognition of black industrial designer within the south african manufacturing and product development sectors. in south africa, black industrial designers are being overlooked for inclusion to design development projects on the basis of our “lack of availability/ existence” when proposals are being sent out for tender. the black industrial designers association (bida) has started a database of 30+ tertiary qualified and industry-practicing black industrial designers to address the issue of our visibility. as an organization / company, we would like to be given the opportunity to come together to collaborate on large projects as individual companies /
