black women in japan (bwij) is an online community of over 3,000 women of the african diaspora: europe, the u.k., the americas, the caribbean and africa, living in japan. the bwij group: • provides activities to enhance the lifestyle of our members • provides resources on life in japan • provides networking opportunities • promotes professional and personal development • promotes cross-cultural understanding with local japanese communities. we have 3 main initiatives the annual bwij convention the black women in japan convention is our main event and provides the stage for bwij members to meet and connect on a personal level. this event fosters career enhancement and personal development related to life in japan. bwij aims to create a space for fellowship, networking, and business support while celebrating the diverse sisterhood of the african diaspora and japanese culture. regionals our members host activities, meet-ups, and participate in community service nationwide. with
