Black Designers Ignite

we exist to celebrate black excellence in design. our purpose is to create space for black designers with unique virtual events where they can highlight their work and tell their stories. we are reimagining how designers start and grow their design careers, and challenging the way designers and speakers gain exposure, network, present portfolios and earn. we are building a platform with the purpose of solving big problems and bringing together passionate designers to create change and unity. we do this by challenging the status quo and elevating voices of those too often left behind. ---- we operate as a collective, with three core tribe members acting as organizing leaders from st. paul, mn, new york, ny, and detroit, mi. the following principles guide our decision making. we ask ourselves if we are a living up to each of these principles every time we take initiative, enter a partnership or publish content online. • community-centricity • inclusivity • empowerment • innovation
