the blackland brand - uniquely american. blackland clothing co is named after my family's farm in central texas. it was located on the blackland prairie - a mostly agricultural area known for its dark rich soil. we raised cattle on the grass and catfish in the pond. i've always appreciated things that work hard day after day and are built to last, whether they be jeans, coats, gloves or tools. over time i became frustrated at how many of these things that used to be made in the usa were now imported from asia. not surpisingly they no longer lasted like they used to. we were becoming a throw-away society. so i decided to do something about it. i had to sell the farm to make it happen, but i was determined to make a difference so i founded blackland clothing co and starting designing my own clothing. not "fashion week" clothing that you see in newspapers and discussed by hipsters in the latest trendy coffee bar - but the type of clothes that men can wear every day and look good in and
