Blackoak Collective

blackoak is a community of early and mid-career black professionals across environmental fields in the dc area. our organization promotes job opportunities, fosters mentorship, and expands networks. we encourage collaboration and education. we recognize that this work is crucial not only because black people are underrepresented in all fields, but because our communities have been on the frontlines of environmental injustices. we know that our voices are critical in the energy, food, urban planning, education, climate, and conservation disciplines. we aim to increase representation within businesses and nonprofits not only as an end, but as a means to ensure we have a stake in our future.
