blendle, backed by the new york times and axel springer, is a journalism startup from the netherlands that offers all articles from major newspapers and magazines in one place, behind one paywall, where users only pay for the articles they read. it has been called the itunes of journalism. launched in april 2014, blendle has 1,000,000 users (as of august 2016) in the netherlands, germany and the us, the majority of whom are under 35 years-old. in october 2014, we received series a investment from the new york times company and axel springer. in september 2015, we launched in germany with all major newspapers and magazines. in march 2016, we launched our private beta in the united states.
