Blessings in a Backpack, Frederick Chapter

blessings in a backpack, frederick chapter mobilizes community volunteers, schools, government agencies, and businesses to provide weekend meals to school children who are facing food insecurity. we partner with local schools to deliver nutritious, child-friendly food to ensure that local children have food for the weekends. as of march 2021, blessings frederick provides food for 3,200 school children through 27 partner schools. it's estimated that over 12,000 children in frederick county are suffering from food insecurity and not knowing where their next meal will come from! from our humble beginning in 2014 as a 100% grassroots volunteer program feeding 210 kids in one school, we have continued to expand our reach. we become an official chapter of the national blessings in a backpack organization in october of 2020. blessings in a backpack is a platinum-rated charity through charity navigator and a four-star level nonprofit through guidestar. we're recognized for our fiscal responsib
