today's world brings various challenges. the kind of food we eat, bottled up emotions, dangers to personal safety throw various hurdles in the path of a child's growth. also, due to nuclear families, and working parents; children do not have someone to discuss and comfort them when they have bouts of negative emotions. they get confused when they face rejection, are bullied, and scoreless in academics. in west, such trend was observed for more than 30-40 years. the top universities of us like university of chicago, harvard, yale have done extensive research, and suggested social and emotional learning curriculum that are now incorporated in schools. in other countries like australia, and those in north europe also, there are such curriculum. after years of research, it is proven now that other than "book smart" children need to be smart with their emotions and intellect, and make right food choices, and learn safety skills.
