blooming hotel en trainingsbureau in bergen kent een rijke historie. eind jaren ’40 werden er in nederland zes volkshogescholen opgericht met als doel samen nederland weer op te bouwen na de tweede wereldoorlog. piet timmerman maakte in opdracht van de volkshogeschool bergen een ronde tafel. aan een ronde tafel ben je gelijkwaardig en kan je niet anders dan elkaar aankijken als je in gesprek bent. inmiddels is de volkshogeschool veranderd in wat vandaag de dag blooming heet: een hotel en een trainingsbureau waar leren en logeren samen komen. de essentie van de ronde tafel staat echter nog steeds overeind: het creëren van een omgeving waar mensen echt met elkaar in gesprek kunnen.
