founded in 1998 by tom derosa, bostononline.net was a boston-based search engine, portal, internet hosting and website services company. this was prior to google. the site was created with a text editor and typed by hand. when visiting the wayback machine archive on a desktop, shrink your browser width size by about half... the site is optimized for screens and browsers designed 20 years ago, at around 800 pixels wide. the link below will allow you to see the internet as it appeared during that time.
