Building and Architect of the Year Awards

welcome to the building and architect of the year awards, a new programme for recognising architectural excellence in building and design. ​ good buildings enrich people’s lives and enable activities essential to a functioning society; education, artistic endeavour, cultural enrichment, inspiring work places, public spaces for civic utility. and when buildings, where form and function seamlessly intertwine are created then society as a whole benefits. designing and delivering these buildings requires the melding of multiple skills sets and considerations. ​ these awards celebrate that process, the special alchemy through which an idea on a drawing board becomes a built reality. ​ we look forward to reviewing the work of ireland's architects across a broad range of social and commercial spheres which will be judged by a distinguished national and international of practitioners, academics and commentators. ​ entries will open in january 2017.
