established in 1980, ian burfitt and steve garrett have known each other since childhood and before starting their own company, they trained and worked within the local building trade. as the company grew linda fitz-johnson became office manager, tim venton joined the team as estimator and surveyor, and peter crosse became contracts manager. the company now has around 40 direct employees, plus an additional 15 - 20 regular subcontractors. today burfitt and garrett continues to grow and they are able to cover all trades, including groundwork, bricklaying/stonework, roofers, carpenters/joiners, painters/decorators, tilers, plumbers, heating engineers, electricians. burfitt and garrett specialise in new builds, loft conversions, extensions, alterations and restorations. based in shaftesbury, dorset, we have earned a reputation for our reliable, efficient and personal building services. we work in both the domestic and commercial spheres, and our comprehensive team allows us to take on job
