gigswap.org came to life in 2006 and is about a global 'gig exchange', through a bond among musicans helping eachother to get their show on the road... it is an on line community with members worldwide who's main goal it is to help you, as a musician, venue or promotor, to make international contacts, to exchange live concerts and share your local information, needed to find bunks f.i., to organise or join a (non profit) event, or to even set up tour projects together. for that we work through a group on couchsurfing.org, named 'gigswapping'.you can find our group here: http://www.couchsurfing.org/group.html?gid=7334 the working principle behind the concepts' effectiveness is not as much based on marketing, but on trust and reciprocity, much in the same spirit as couchsurfing.
