the society of women in business (swib) is an undergraduate organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for interaction between members and the professional community, to serve as a source of information pertaining to women in business, and to support women in their efforts to pursue higher levels of educational and professional achievement. the society of women in business was created in the summer of 2003 by melissa mcavoy. with the help of advisor, deborah turner, and the society of women in engineering at georgia tech, swib obtained the status of "interest group" in the spring of 2004. since then the society of women in business has hosted numerous professional speakers and events. official acceptance of the organization charter occurred in 2006. join one of the fastest growing organizations on campus and jump start your career today! all majors are welcome.
