guifibaix is a non-profit cooperativist initiative that operates at baix llobregat, barcelona metropolitan area, spain. we deploy guifi.net network (an open and neutral wireless network) so that neighbours have access to alternative landline and internet services. our social goals are: - providing an alternative outside the current oligopolistic companies - universalize internet access by providing low fares - promoting economy and labour at the region besides, the company is attached to social and ethical goals such as: - fair labour conditions. - fair service fares. - no vendor lock-in. - open technologies and knowledge. - negative carbon impact.
