barbara houwers is a dutch artist, specialising in painting. she lives and works in blaricum (amsterdam region). her successful series inspired by themes around the human being have led to many exhibitions and commissions from companies, government and institutions. barbara’s works can be found both in private and corporate collections and public buildings. after her studies at the utrecht school of the arts, barbara houwers started with her professional practice as an autonomous artist. before that, she was ten years working in art education. promoting talent and creativity is still her important mission. houwers coaches (young) people in their cultural entrepreneurship and artistic development and regularly organizes exhibitions, projects and workshops. education 1976-1982 visual arts teachers training academy utrecht-amersfoort. 1990-1992 hku-utrecht school of the arts. start professional practice 1993. barbara houwers (1958)
