I Am Young America

i am young america is a social enterprise that promotes youth entrepreneurship as a means to combat unemployment and boost economic impact in cities. our mission is to help revitalize american cities by empowering young entrepreneurs to launch businesses and mobilize citizens everywhere to champion them. through our website and programs we highlight and support america’s under 40 entrepreneurs with inspired content, business services, micro-grants, global adventures, online courses, civic engagement, and other tools. the overall challenge we’re trying to tackle is the unemployment and underemployment of america’s brightest thinkers in urban cities. in 2012, one out of two new college graduates were either jobless or working minimum wage jobs. i am young america promotes entrepreneurship as a solution. the inaccessibility to the valuable resources available in local entrepreneurial ecosystems is another problem. cities often operate in silos, making it hard for the next generation of en
