the investment casting institute is a manufacturer’s trade association, whose primary mission is to promote the investment casting process and members as well as collecting and disseminating information about the industry and providing education opportunities to members. established in 1953, the institute is comprised of over 240 companies, half of which are casting members and half are supplier members. the institute sponsors a certification course and process control course in investment casting available to members. this is augmented by a number of technical publications, dvd’s and cd’s. the institute also publishes incast, the only monthly magazine devoted to investment casting, which keeps members current on industry trends. incast is currently celebrating its 27th year. the ici offers a number of benchmarking reports for participating north american casting members. these reports provide not only monthly and annual commercial statistics, but also address compensation practi
