iparametric has the aim of setting up an on-line insurance broker specialized in parametric policies addressed to customers traveling for work or leisure to offer them protection from predefined adverse events that could occur during the trip (for example delays of trains / planes over a predefined time, days of stay with rain exceeding a set limit, etc.). the characteristic that distinguishes the parametric coverage from normal insurance policies is that the adverse event that determines the payment of the claim, agreed in the policy, will be certified by an independent source (the so-called "oracle") able to confirm the event in an irrefutable and immediate way. the payment of the claim will consequently take place automatically following the event, without any need to report the accident by the customer, and the smart contract will be register on a secure blockchain in order to be transparent for the costumers.
