ishtirak is a boutique strategy and business development consultancy, focused on middle east and african markets. we specialize in projects that other firms either can’t tackle--or won’t. ishtirak focuses on the ‘exploratory’ and ‘transformative’ phases of business development, in which the client is looking to assess and develop a new market, or manage a new and/or unexpected threat to its existing business. geographically, we are particularly strong in east africa/red sea region (yemen, the horn of africa), the gulf, and libya. common to all ishtirak engagements is an emphasis on the local context, including compatibility with local market needs and customs. the more complex and ‘local’ a project, the more value ishtirak can add. our small size, specialization and selectivity allow us to give each of our clients full attention.
